Bathroom Remodel
Posted by msaet02 on Monday, March 16, 2015. We bought our home back in 2008, and the hall bathroom is long overdue for a major renovation. Our home was built in 1975, and the bathroom screams 1970's with yellow wall tile and a yellow laminate countertop. There is a white double vanity that was built into the room with a large mirror that extends the length of the entire vanity. Some of the mirror finish has worn off or something, and it looks totally horrible! What may be worst of all is the lighting above the mirror that I have playfully and rightfully named the "octopus light". The electrical is centered over the mirror, however the chains swag to the right and left, attached on hooks, to provide lighting beside each sink. What a mess! To top it all off, I decided to tackle the bathroom myself a few years ago and take that yucky yellow tile off the walls, but I didn't finish the job. Yikes! So now there is a hole in the wall that desperately needs fixing.
You may be wondering what am I going to do to fix this bathroom? I've designed up a plan and we've contacted a contractor. Yay!!
Here are the finishes:
This is the accent tile for the shower...
There will be two of these vanities, instead of a double sink...
...with this black granite countertop. We got both for $20 each.
A gorgeous sconce I found at Butler Lighting in Greensboro, NC to hang between the mirrors.
Hardware for the vanities... ...and for the shower.
Don't forget jewelry for the sinks.
Porcelain tile that resembles wood flooring!
And finally the mirrors (although I haven't decided on silver or black).
What do you think?
